FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 4:23–25: Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

In chapter 4, Paul presented several irrefutable reasons why justification is by faith:

(1) Since justification is a gift, it cannot be earned by works (vv. 1–8).
(2) Since Abraham was justified before he was circumcised, circumcision has no relationship to justification (vv. 9–12).
(3) Since Abraham was justified centuries before the Law, justification is not based on the Law (vv. 13–17).
(4) Abraham was justified because of his faith in God, not because of his works (vv. 18–25). 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

May the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20–21

Jesus, thank You for revealing Your plan of salvation before sin ever marred Your creation. Thank You for washing me clean from all my past, present, and future. Thank You for Your justification. That You for declaring me righteous before Your throne of grace. Thank You for being my Shepherd.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

His peace is my assurance that He loves me with an everlasting love.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

He is the propitiation for our sins, and also for the whole world. 1 John 2:2

Dear Father, I keep praising You, my perfect Substitute…in Jesus Name. Amen.
