FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 4:20–21: He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
In spite of the humanly impossible situation, Abraham did not waver through unbelief. “Waver” means “to be divided” (sometimes trans. “doubt”). God, responding to Abraham’s faith, empowered him and Sarah physically to generate the child of promise. Also he gave glory to God, that is, he praised God by exalting or exclaiming His attributes. Abraham was fully persuaded that God had power (“spiritual ability”) to do what He had promised. What confidence in God this spiritual forefather possessed! He “in hope believed.” He was not weak in faith despite insuperable odds. He was not divided in his thinking by unbelief. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13
Jesus, thank You for always standing next to me. Thank You for fighting my battles. Thank You for giving me strength to press on in faith. Thank You for making me strong when I felt like quitting. Thank You for reminding me of Your many promises. Thank You for providing a glorious outcome when everything seemed impossible.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
What is impossible for me, is possible for Him.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)
Dear Father, I surrender my unbelief. I believe You will do it…in Jesus Name. Amen.
