FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 6:7–9: For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Sin and death have no dominion over Christ. We are “in Christ”; therefore, sin and death have no dominion over us. Jesus Christ not only died “for sin,” but He also died “unto sin.” That is, He not only paid the penalty for sin, but He broke the power of sin. This idea of dominion takes us back to Romans 5:12–21 where Paul dealt with the “reigns” of sin, death, and grace. Through Christ we “reign in life” so that sin no longer controls our lives. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. 2 Timothy 2:11

Thank You Jesus for dying my death so You could live Your life through me. Please teach me everyday to “know that I know.” I want to know You more through the consistent reading of Your Word and praying before Your throne of grace. I want to do the things that please You the most. I want to love You wholeheartedly.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Less of me and more of You is the way I want to finish my race.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2

Dear Father, teach me to think about the things You are thinking about, and to not think about the things that are faithless and futile…in Jesus Name. Amen.
