FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 1:25: Who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

From idolatry to immorality is just one short step. If man is his own god, then he can do whatever he pleases and fulfill his desires without fear of judgment. We reach the climax of man’s battle with God’s truth when man exchanges the truth of God for “the lie” and abandons truth completely. “The lie” is that man is his own god, and he should worship and serve himself and not the Creator. It was “the lie” Satan used in the Garden to lead Eve into sin: “Ye shall be as God!” Satan has always wanted the worship that belongs only to God. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:20

Jesus, thank You for Your truth. I need Your word all day, and everyday. May I have an unquenchable appetite for Your word. Please extinguish all other appetites. Make me wise against the proposition for sinful deception. Make the world distasteful to me.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

The two great exchanges: give up the truth for a lie, or give up your sin for salvation.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. Matthew 6:24

Dear Father, please keep me in Your truth. Please keep me from believing the deceptive lie. May I only worship You and never Your creation…in Jesus name. Amen.
