FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 2:26–27: Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law?
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
To wear a wedding ring speaks of something sacred. But to be unfaithful to that which it stands for makes the wedding ring a disgrace. When I was in a motel in another city, I saw a man who was a deacon in a church, sitting at a table, having a very friendly talk with a very beautiful young lady who was not his wife. The thing that impressed me was that as his hand hung over the side of the table, the light was shining on his wedding ring, making it stand out. I thought, what a mockery! When the man saw me, he was embarrassed, of course. But, you see, the wedding ring was meaningless. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. Colossians 2:11–12
Jesus, thank You for circumcising my heart and putting Your Holy Spirit within me. Thank You for relating to me based on a relationship, and not by rules and rituals.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
He is no longer the symbol; He has become the substance.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, Colossians 2:6
Dear Father, may my walk match my talk…in Jesus Name. Amen.
