FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 4:1–2: What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Paul has vividly stated that man is a sinner. Then he revealed that God provides a righteousness for sinners, and justification by faith has been explained. Now he will illustrate this truth with two men out of the Old Testament: Abraham and David. Abraham was the founder of the Hebrew race, and David was their greatest king. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. James 2:23

Jesus, thank You for justifying sinners, drawing us near to yourself, and calling us a “friend of God.” We were all once a friend of the world and we constantly broke the heart of God. Then Jesus died my death and offered me His life. And now He present me before His throne of grace, just as if I never sinned. There is no longer any evidence that sin ever existed in my soul. Praise the Lord.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Justification is God declaring that the sins of this sinner no longer exist.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Dear Father, I was a lost and wayward sheep. You were the sacrificial Lamb that became my Shepherd. I am eternally grateful…in Jesus Name. Amen.
