FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 1:11–12: For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established—that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
“I long to see you!” This is the pastor’s heart in Paul the great missionary. Some of the saints in Rome were very dear to Paul, such as Priscilla and Aquila, who risked their lives for him; “the beloved Persis;” and others who had labored and suffered with Paul. But he also loved the believers that he did not know, and he longed to be able to share some spiritual gift with them. He was looking forward to a time of mutual blessing in the love of Christ. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. Acts 11:23
Jesus, thank You for putting into our hearts a longing for the spiritual welfare of others. It is so encouraging to observe the spiritual gifts in the family of God and to encourage people to use those gifts in faith to strengthen other believers. What Christian will you encourage today…to continue steadfastly in their walk of faith? Ask God to use you to be a spontaneous blessing. It should be the longing of your heart.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
A timely word of encouragement can radically change the future of a friend.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 4
Dear Father, thank You for giving me so many things to be thankful about. Open up the heart of others. I want to provide godly encouragement…in Jesus name. Amen.
