FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 1:1(a): Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Paul identified himself first as a servant of Christ Jesus. “Servant” (doulos) means slave, a person owned by another. Paul wore this title gladly, reveling in the Old Testament picture of a slave who in love binds himself to his master for life. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

“Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:43–45

Jesus, please create within me the heart of a servant. I want to be just like You. I want to give my life for the cause of Christ. Please fill me with Your empowering Holy Spirit. Purge me from any selfish ambitions. Make me into a servant, just like You did to Paul. I want to serve You and others with a pure heart.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Being known as a servant of The King is a privileged position and one of great honor.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Dear Father, please deliverer me from my fear because of an overwhelming situation that is confronting me. I want to trust You and not be anxious about the uncertainty. I ask for Your strength and courage. May I aways be reminded that You are with me in every battle. I choose faith and not fear. I choose to serve You, in Jesus name. Amen.
