Romans 12:12: Continuing steadfastly in prayer.

Serving Christ usually means satanic opposition and days of discouragement. Paul admonished his readers to maintain their spiritual zeal because they were serving the Lord and not men. When life becomes difficult, the Christian cannot permit his zeal to grow cold. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” 1

Application

  • Read Ephesians 3:14-21 and notice how Paul prays.
  • Pray this same prayer for yourself. This is how you become steadfast in prayer:
    • You are strengthening me by your Spirit deep inside of me…I have hope!
    • Christ is actually dwelling in me by faith…I am never alone!
    • I am being rooted & grounded in love…so I can love others better!
    • God wants to fill me with the fullness of His love…so I will not be deceived!
    • God wants to do exceedingly abundant things in me…my future matters to Him!

Prayer

Lord, I want to thank You for helping me to pray with renewed faith today. I know You will answer my prayers!
