Romans 15:2: Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

Now let’s keep in mind that we are still in the area of questionable things, things that are not mentioned in Scripture as wrong. However, because the Scripture is silent on many things in our contemporary society, we have been given these great guidelines, three principles of separation: (1) Conviction. Whatever we do is to be done with enthusiasm because we are persuaded in our own minds that it is what God wants us to do. (2) Conscience. Our conduct should be such that we do not look back upon it with qualms of conscience. (3) Consideration. We should show consideration for the feelings and prejudices of the weak believers. 1

Application

  • Are you learning to be trained by the Holy Spirit of God to think about others, what’s important to them, and then serving them with joy, and not with an opposing opinion and a bad attitude?
  • Do you think first about how you can best build up another? Would you rather see your picture in the newspaper or your friend’s picture?

Prayer

Lord, build Your life in me, through my difficulties.
