Psalm 139:17–18: How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

The task of counting God’s thoughts of love would be never-ending. God thinks upon us infinitely; there is a limit to the act of creation, but not to the might of divine love. Thy thoughts of love are so many that my mind never gets away from them; they surround me at all hours. The psalmist does not say, “When I awake I return to thee,” but, I am still with thee, as if his thoughts and his communion unbroken. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You. Psalm 31:19

  • Rejoice over His unbroken fellowship with you! – Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Psalm 40:5
  • Rejoice over His sustaining love for you! – I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. Psalm 3:5
  • Rejoice over His unmovable presence protecting you. – I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8

The One who is our eternal God, has infinite thoughts towards us. – TWEET IT

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for Your never-ending love for me. Dear Jesus, please teach me to live each day thinking about You…just like You think about me.
