Psalm 22:3–5: But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

The confidence he mustered was from the knowledge that God answers prayer. God is holy, distinct from all the false gods of the pagans in that He is alive and acts. In fact God is enthroned and therefore received praise from the Israelites for answered prayer. David’s ancestors, putting their trust in the Lord, prayed in their distress and were delivered by Him. So David was encouraged to keep on praying. 1

Living the Transformed Life

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:13–14

  • Your deliverance is on the way. From the throne of heaven to the deep frailty of your hurting heart, He will deliver His peace upon you and upon your circumstances.
  • Your deliverance is on the way. Just like He delivered all those saints before you, so too…He shall deliver you.
  • Your deliverance is on the way, so let the Lord fight your battles from this day forward. Trust in Him.

To be delivered is to be set free from all those burdensome expectations that you place upon yourself. – TWEET IT

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for coming to my rescue, again and again. Dear Jesus, teach me how to suit up for battle, and to follow Your lead to victory.
