Psalm 4:1: Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Here is wisdom; let us imitate it and always take our case, not to the petty courts of human opinion, but into the superior court of heaven. Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress. A figure taken from an army hard pressed by the surrounding enemy. God has broken the barriers and set me in a large place. “God has enlarged my heart with joy and comfort when I was like a man imprisoned by grief and sorrow.” God is a never-failing comforter. Have mercy upon me. Though you may justly permit my enemies to destroy me, on account of my many and great sins, yet I flee to your mercy, and I beseech you to hear my prayer, and bring your servant out of his troubles. The best of men need mercy as truly as the worst of men. 1

Living the Transformed Life

They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. Psalm 18:18

  • Please go to the “court of heaven” in prayer, before you go anywhere else.
  • When you take your distress to the Lord, your relief is on its way. Look up, for His joy and comfort shall surround you and deliver you from much discouragement.
  • Flee to His mercy in times of trouble, it it there that you will find Him waiting for you.

Your greatest need will be met by the greatness of His love, when you call out to Him in unrestrained prayer. – TWEET IT

Praise and Prayer

Thank You Father, for always hearing the heart behind my prayer. I love You. Dear Jesus, please forgive me for not coming to You sooner in my despair.
