Psalm #:#: God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
“What is the primary objective and purpose of missions?” It is true that missions should result in the saving of souls, but that is not the primary purpose. The chief end of missions is to glorify God. The whole purpose is to glorify God. I wonder if we have lost that objective today? It is in the catechism I had to learn: Question: “What is the chief end of man?” Answer: “The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” That is the purpose of man on earth. Why do you and I exist? Are we here only “to eat the meat and fish and leave behind an empty dish”? Is that all man is supposed to do? No, man is to glorify God. We glorify Him when we get His Word out. We glorify Him when we preach the gospel. We glorify Him when people are saved. But the purpose is to glorify God. 1
Living the Transformed Life
I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4
- Will you glorify Him today by seeking to know Him and to make Him known?
- Will you glorify Him today by purposely seeking to do His will and not your own?
- Will you glorify Him today by believing that all things are working out for the good?
We glorify Him, when we purposely live for His glory, and not our own. – TWEET IT
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for everything. We glorify You with our words and in our work. Dear Jesus, please teach me how to finish my work for Your glory.
