Psalm 23:6b: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Our Shepherd brings us all the way from the green pastures and the still waters to the Father’s house. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” In John 14:2–3 the Lord says to us, “… I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Can you say at this moment, “The Lord is my shepherd”? If you can, all the wonderful promises of this psalm are yours. If He is the Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep and He is your Savior, this psalm is for you. 1
Living the Transformed Life
He asked life from You, and You gave it to him, and length of days forever. Psalm 21:4
- There is a permanent home that awaits you in heaven, therefore do not let your home on earth consume all your time and energy. Never let it own you!
- There is a permanent home that awaits you in heaven, therefore do not become possessed by all your possessions on earth. Travel lightly!
- There is a permanent home that awaits you in heaven, therefore do not make this place on earth a parking space of comfort, but rather just a temporary camping site. Be about your Father’s business!

Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for confirming my reservations with You in heaven.
Dear Jesus, please teach me to live for You, and not for myself.
