Proverbs 16:3: Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.

Insight

The word “commit” might be rendered “roll.” He who rolls his affairs over upon the Lord, will find Him ever ready to take charge of them all, and to carry them on to a proper completion and establishment. But it must be borne in mind that if I thus commit all to Him, I no longer choose for myself as to what the outcome should be, but say with confidence, “Thy will be done.” He would have every desire told out in His ear, and then left in faith that He may act according to His love and unerring wisdom. 1

Application

Evaluate your commitment to His Word, to your spouse, to your children, to His church, to your work, to your education, to your friendships, to your ministry. Have you committed it all to Him? Do you leave it with Him, or do you take it back? Is He the One who is establishing your thoughts, or are you the one trying to do it all in your own strength? Will your re-commit yourself and your ways to Him right now?

Motivation

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25

A commitment must be more than just the right words at the right time. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, please help me to remember the commitment of love You continue to demonstrate to me everyday.
