Proverbs 4:20–22: My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Insight

The keeping of the Word will be life to those who find it. Some medicines are good for one part of the body, some for another. This is good for the body and the soul. We will enjoy vigorous health as we feed on this heavenly manna. We will not then bear our religion as our cross, as a cumbersome appendage. We will not drag our Christian duties around with us as if they were chains. Godliness will be a joy for us. The spirit will be aglow. The mind will be enriched with divine wisdom. The heart will be established with gospel grace. 1

Application

It seems like everyday we are presented with multiple ways of staying healthy. The things we should eat and not eat. The daily physical exercise programs. The supplement products we are suppose to take. But what about your spiritual health? Are you desiring to excel in this area of your life? Is the Word of God just an occasional supplement, or is it your daily bread? Do you purposefully exercise your spiritual life with a walk that glorifies the Lord? Is praying only happing when your panicking, or is there a continual conversation with your Creator and Lord?

Motivation

Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. John 12:35

His manna from heaven is still our daily manna on earth. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for feeding us everyday with Your grace and truth and love.
