Proverbs 20:11: Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right.

Insight

Parents should take note of their children’s early habits. Generally the discerning eye will see something in the budding of the young tree that will indicate how the mature tree will grow. The child tells us what the man will be. No wise parent will pass over little faults, as if it is only a child doing childish things. If a child is deceitful, quarrelsome, obstinate, rebellious, and selfish, how can we but fear for his future as he grows up? But we must never forget that we serve the God of hope. So we do not despair of his grace. We do not doubt his faithfulness. We hold on in patient hope. 1

Application

In what way are you training your children or your grandchildren or someone else’s children to know the Word of God, and the love of God, and the purposes of God, for their life? Get involved personally, or get behind those who are involved with personal encouragement, and even financially supporting the work of the church.

Motivation

And all those who heard them kept them in their hearts, saying, “What kind of child will this be?” And the hand of the Lord was with him. Luke 1:66

The game clock towards godly training will quickly running out on a young child. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, help me to be more dedicated in prayer for all the children and youth.
