Proverbs 31:31c: Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
Insight
Who then will regret days of toil and nights of watching? Who then would exchange the saint’s path and portion, with all its responsibilities as well as privileges, for a place of ease and careless enjoyment of a few fleeting hours on earth? Not one. Living in view of that sacred hour when all our works shall be inspected and passed upon by Him who has won our deepest affections, may we have purpose of heart and earnestness of soul to cleave to Himself, holding fast His faithful word, and not denying His Name, while waiting here for His return. 1
Application
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10
I think everyone in heaven would say: “Living for the Lord was well worth it.”
Thank-you for joining me on this 297-day journey through Proverbs. Tomorrow we start our devotional Bible study through Psalms. It is called “Songs for the Soul.”
Proverbs provides the wisdom for daily living. Many are in a great habit of reading a chapter a day, since there are 31 Proverbs. Psalms will provide a doorway to worship God. It is a book of prayer and praise. It reveals who God is and it invites us to pour our hearts out before Him, regardless of how we our feeling. His Word will delight your heart, and comfort your soul, and heal your broken heart. I hope we can make this next journey together.
Thanks for praying for me as I write each daily devotion. Tomorrow will mark the 2,445th daily devotional. May God cause this to be our most fruitful year ever.
May we experience the power of His Holy Spirit each day. – Pastor Tom
