Proverbs 12:23: A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

Insight

A prudent man will not say things that are going to hurt someone. But you have probably been in a crowd where there is some foolish person, a big–mouthed person, who says something that casts a reflection on another person—of course, someone who is not present in the crowd. The prudent man would not say it, but the heart of the fool will say things like that. 1

Application

There is no need to impress anybody with all you know about a situation, unless they are part of the problem or part of the solution. If not, it is best to limit your expression of knowledge to “a need to know” basis. This will protect those who need to be protected, and it will help to prevent speculation and wrong conclusions. This becomes the noted difference between the wise and the foolish.

Motivation

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

There is no need to share all you know, all at once. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, please help me to seek your wisdom, and not the wisdom of the world.
