Proverbs 4:7–9: Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.

Insight

The interesting thing here is that wisdom is to be loved like a woman is loved. When we get to the New Testament, this is changed—Christ has been made unto us wisdom, and we are to love Him. The real difficulty in our day is not that there are problems in the Bible. The real difficulty is that in man there is not that love and longing for God and for the things of God. When love is present in the heart, this Book will begin to open up, because the spirit of God will become the Teacher. 1

Application

The pursuit of wisdom is really the pursuit of God. Consider one area of your life that you can be pursuing more of God. Perhaps you could be pursuing more of God and less of social media. Perhaps take just five extra minutes each day to pray for your family and close friends. Be specific in your prayers. Let your love for God grow through your prayers for others. That is a wise choice to make.

Motivation

Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

When we open our heart to the Word of God, the Word of God opens up our heart. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, please reveal Your Word to me and help me to trust You more each day.
