Proverbs 18:10: The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

Insight

The name of Jehovah is also the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is called Jesus because He saves His people from their sins. And He is called Christ because He is the Anointed One. He is the Lord of our life and our salvation. The Lord is a strong tower. You can run into it and be completely safe. This is a verse that many have used in speaking to children, and I have used it myself and found it very effective. It speaks of security and reminds us that no one can pluck us out of His hands. What a beautiful picture this is! 1

Application

In the strong tower of Lord, Peter tells us what we can experience in 1 Peter 5:7: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” What cares will you give to Him today? It is time to receive the safety and security of His presence. Will you surrender it all to Him right now?

Motivation

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:3–4

The safest place to live is to live in the will of God. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for welcoming me into the safety of Your strong tower.
