Godly Encouragement for Daily Living

A PROMISE

Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is perishing,
yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
while we do not look at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16–18

A Prayer

Heavenly Father…
Thank You for never giving up on me.
Even when I feel like quitting, You renew my heart.
Even when I am physically spent, Your mercies are new.
Even when the afflictions seem great, they will soon be over.
You are working out a greater plan in me.
My eyes must focus on You and not on my situation.
It is always too soon to quit.
But it is never too soon to surrender my will to Your lordship.
I must remember that the temporal is but for a moment.
And the eternal is gloriously soon!
In Jesus Name. Amen.
