Psalm 5:1–3: Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
The psalmist pleaded with God to hear (Give ear.… Listen) his lament as he prayed morning by morning (lit., “in the morning”) with full expectation. “In the morning” is repeated in verse 3 for emphasis. It stresses that his first thoughts each day were prayer. 1
Living the Transformed Life
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
- The Lord loves to hear from you every morning.
- No prayer is too small, and no prayer is too great. Share your heart with Him.
- He is your hope. He will give you every reason to look up. Trust Him.
Your voice brings pleasure to the Lord, especially when you first awake.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You Father, for always rejoicing in my joy and embracing me in my sorrow. Dear Jesus, I need You. Help me to look up in hope and to be confident in You again.
