Psalm 27:5: For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Where was the secret place of the tabernacle? It was inside the Holy of Holies. No one could go there but the high priest. Do you know what was in there? The ark of the covenant, which was only a box overlaid with gold; but upon the ark was the elaborate lid, which God designated as the mercy seat because blood was sprinkled upon it. Now in our day because the Lord Jesus has shed His blood, we have a mercy seat to which we can go. That is where He hides us. What a secure place we have! 1

Living the Transformed Life

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15–16

  • Let us come in humility, and with confession before our High Priest, who knows our weaknesses, and we will find His grace to meet our needs.
  • Let us come boldly, and with confidence before our High Priest, who knows our trials and temptations, and we will find His grace to meet our needs.
  • Let us come to throne of grace, in that secret place, before our High Priest, who hides us and strengthens us, and we will find His grace to meet our needs.

A graceless life, is a life that has been absent, at the throne of grace.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for supplying your matchless grace, without measure. Dear Jesus, forgive me for not coming immediately to Your throne room.
