Psalm 71:18: Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Friend, if you are a senior citizen, let me say this to you: Don’t go into a corner and sit in a rocking chair. God hasn’t forsaken you, and right down to your dying days He has kept you on this earth for a purpose. I am praying, “Lord, don’t let me sit down in a rocking chair permanently.” I love to sit in a rocking chair. Many of my friends across the country have a rocking chair in their homes with my name on it. They always drag it out when I come to visit. I enjoy a rocking chair—but I don’t want to stay there all the time. I want to be active for the Lord right down to the end of my life. 1
Living the Transformed Life
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. Psalm 78:4
- While we still have breath, our voice should declare the glory that belongs to God.
- While we still have breath, our hands should serve our Savior and Lord.
- While we still have breath, our heart should seek Him in prayer for the salvation of the next generation.
The One who gives me every breathe, is the One worthy of all my praise.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You Father for being with me from the beginning to the very end of this life. Dear Jesus, teach me to numbers my days, making You a my highest priority.
