Psalm 26:6–7: I will wash my hands in innocence; So I will go about Your altar, O Lord, that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wondrous works.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving. David does not mention the typical offering, but discerns the spiritual offering which was intended by it: to sound the worthy praises of God, which should be the everyday business of a pardoned sinner. And tell of all thy wondrous works. God’s works of love are wondrous…so the saints should rejoice to tell of the great things which the Lord has done for them. 1
Living the Transformed Life
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:4–5
- Let us praise Him for His continual and unconditional love, for in Him is the fullness of overflowing love.
- Let us praise Him for His saving and sustaining grace, for in Him is the fullness of immeasurable grace.
- Let us praise Him for His wonder and His wondrous works, for in Him we are complete and completely fulfilled.
Proclaiming praises to my Lord will reveal just how much love I actually have in my heart for Jesus.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for making me presentable before Your throne, by your love, and by your blood. Dear Jesus, please break my heart of pride, that I may praise You with an uncompromising purity of heart.
