Psalm 145:1–3: I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

David vowed to praise the Lord His King (cf. 149:2) and His name (His revealed attributes) every day because He is great. The greatness of the Lord is unfathomable; no one has plumbed its depths. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Psalm 103:1–2

  • I will bless God by talking about His wonderful works in my life. I will not be a silent Christian. – “To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” Psalm 30:12
  • I will bless God by serving Him faithfully and giving glory to His name. – “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Matthew 25:34
  • I will bless God by singing this heavenly song, everyday during my journey on earth. – “They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!” Revelation 15:3

The words from my mouth will always flow from the praise within my heart.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for giving me endless reasons to praise You. Dear Jesus, teach me to abide in Your presence, with a heart filled with praise, before my daily responsibilities begin.
