Psalm 67:1: God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
This verse is a reference to the Trinity. It is a reference to the great threefold Trinitarian blessing that God gave the nation of Israel when He prepared them for the wilderness march. Some of the teachers of Israel refer to the “face of God” as the Messiah; and this is the Messiah, that is Jesus, the Christ, God the Son, our Savior. 1
Living the Transformed Life
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ’ Numbers 6:24–26
- It is His blessing upon you that keeps you secure in Him.
- It is His blessing upon you that allows you to experience His favor and grace.
- It is His blessing upon you that lifts you above your circumstances, and gives you peace.
The blessings of the Lord are upon all those who bless the Lord with faith.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You Father for all the ways that You bless me everyday, and in so many ways. Dear Jesus, please teach me to live under the blessed canopy of your love, mercy, and grace.
