Psalm 23:3 (a): He restores my soul

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

He restores my soul. When the soul grows sorrowful he revives it; when it is sinful he sanctifies it; when it is weak he strengthens it. He does it. His ministers could not do it if he did not. His Word would not avail by itself. He restores: do we feel that our spirituality is at its lowest ebb? He who turns the ebb into the flood can soon restore our soul. Pray to him, then, for the blessing. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

  • When my soul is weighted down by continual sin…He restored me.
  • When my soul is weary from the unrelenting spiritual battles…He restores me.
  • When my soul is wondering why so few are willing to serve You…He restores me.

The One who restores me, is the One who will never leave me.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for rescuing me from the waywardness of this world. Dear Jesus, please visit me in these desperate days, and restore my soul from the heartache caused by careless Christians who no longer want to fight the good fight of faith.
