Psalm 100:3: Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
There are a lot of people who do not know that the Lord is God. Many Christians are not aware of this fact. In the early Christian church when the first persecution broke out, the apostles came back to the church in Jerusalem and reported what was happening. Their report moved the church to pray, and they began their prayer by saying, “Lord, thou art God …” (Acts 4:24). We ought to worship Him because He is the Creator! He made this universe! Not only do we worship Him as Creator, but “we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” How do you become a sheep? You must be redeemed. This is a case where the Shepherd died for the sheep; the sheep did not die for this Shepherd. The Lord is the Shepherd of Israel; He is also my Shepherd and yours—if we belong to Him. 1
Living the Transformed Life
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:6
- Because He is my Lord…I do His will and purposefully live my life to glorify Him.
- Because He is my God…I will look upward every morning and acknowledge Him as the One who created everything and is in control of every situation that I face today.
- Because He is my Shepherd…I will welcome His encouragement and correction.
To know the true and living God is to know my Lord and my Shepherd.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for always loving me and for always taking care of me. Dear Jesus, in the green pastures of fellowship is where you restored my soul. Thanks!
