Psalm 53:1: The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Many years ago an educator, who was president of one of the largest universities in this country, said, “We no longer take anything for granted, not even the existence of God.” This is the spirit of the Antichrist. If you are going to come to God, you will have to come by faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that he is.” (Heb. 11:6). A number of years ago the Beatles said, “We are more popular than Christ!” Of course that is not true now. Their popularity lasted for only a short time. Atheism is a characteristic of Antichrist. In the last days the forces of atheism will be headed up in him. Of him Paul wrote: “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped” (2 Thess. 2:4). 1
Living the Transformed Life
But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62
- It is foolish to call yourself a Christian, and yet you seldom read the Words of Christ.
- It is foolish to call yourself a Christian, and yet you yield more to worldly thinking and worldly behavior and worldly priorities.
- It is foolish to apply the name of Christ to your life, and yet you spend little time around His family, loving them, and serving them, and equipping them.
You may never deny the existence of Christ, but your life may never reflect His existence.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for revealing Yourself in creation, and with every breath I take. Dear Jesus, forgive me for looking back. May my eyes be kept steadfastly upon You.
