Psalm 115:3–7: But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk. Those who make them are like them; As are those who trusts them.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

When the idol is made, the man has to carry it on his back into town. God says to man, “I am the Lord. I will carry you.” Does your God carry you, or do you carry your god? In the midst of all the atheism, the materialism, and the immorality, trust the Lord. Rest in Him. Draw near to Him. Cast yourself upon Him.1 There is no other like Him! 1

Living the Transformed Life

Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Awake!’ To silent stone, ‘Arise! It shall teach!’ Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, Yet in it there is no breath at all. Habakkuk 2:19

  • You were made in His image…but is He the One who is receiving all your love?

We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

  • You were made in His image…but is He the One you’re most passionate about?

Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? John 13:38

  • You were made in His image…but is He the One who leads your life?

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

He made us, redeemed us, lives in us, is glorified through us. Thats our God!

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for being the One and only God for me. Dear Jesus, forgive me for failing to love You with all my heart, soul, mind, & strength.
