Psalm 23:2 (a): He makes me to lie down in green pastures.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

What are the green pastures but the Scriptures of truth—always fresh, always rich, and never exhausted! When by faith we are enabled to find rest in the promises, we are like the sheep that lie down in the pasture; we find at the same moment both rest and refreshment. It is the Lord who graciously enables us to receive the preciousness of his truth, and to feed upon it. How grateful ought we to be for the power to appropriate the promises! 1

Living the Transformed Life

And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

  • Will you lie down with Him and His Word, and receive His refreshment for your soul?
  • Will you lie down with Him and meditate upon His promises that will free your heart from that emotional roller coaster ride of worry and doubt? (Read: Matthew 6:25-34)
  • Will you lie down with Him and express your gratitude for His peace that will overrule all those dominating fears and insecurities? (Read: Psalm 103:1-5)

There are green pastures that have been prepared by Him, awaiting your arrival.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for making every provision necessary for my journey through this earthly kingdom, as I live for Your Kingdom to come. Dear Jesus, please lead me into those green pastures. I long to be home with You.
