1 Corinthians 9:20: And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;

Paul never yielded in the smallest measure to anything that was in itself wrong. In this his conduct was the direct opposite of those who accommodate themselves to people’s sins or to the superstitious observances of false religions. And, second, the concession must not involve any admission that what is in fact unimportant is a matter of moral obligation. 1

Application

  • Read 1 Corinthians 6:12. What are you willing to do to win others to Christ?
  • What is one liberty that you have, but you chose not to exercise, because it is not helpful to others?
