1 Corinthians 10:2: All were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

They “were all baptized unto Moses.” Here we come again to that word baptized. Baptized can mean many things. Now baptizo means to “identify.” In fact, water baptism has that meaning, as it speaks of our identification with Christ. We are buried with Him by baptism—by the baptism of the Holy Spirit—that is what the baptism of the Holy Spirit is. He identifies us with the body of Christ—He puts us into the body as a member. “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body” (1 Cor. 12:13). 1

Application

  • Read Exodus 14:3. What great work have you seen God do in your life this week?
  • Read Ephesians 1:12. What expression comes from your heart when you are able to trust the Lord?
