Jesus is Essential
Luke 17:26–30: And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
Why does Jesus mention these things? Well, the generation of Noah was living as if God did not exist when judgment was imminent. Today men and women are eating and drinking (and not even marrying though living together), and they do not recognize that the judgment of God is out there in the future—when, we do not know. God would not destroy the city until Lot had been taken out of it. Neither will He bring the Great Tribulation upon this earth until He takes His own out of the world. God has a people in the world today who are just like Lot in many respects. Although they have trusted Christ as Savior, they compromise with the world. 1
Walking with Jesus
If you knew with complete certainty that Jesus would come for His church this year, would that have any effect on your daily living? Is it even possible that Jesus could return this year? Is there any way that you can bear more fruit, in the time remaining?
These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:9–10
The difference between conviction and compromise is evident in your conduct.

Lord, thank You for being so patient with me. May my life bring You more glory.
