FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 12:17: Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
The believer who seeks to obey God is going to have his enemies. When our Lord was ministering on earth, He had enemies. No matter where Paul and the other apostles traveled, there were enemies who opposed their work. Jesus warned His disciples that their worst enemies might be those of their own household (Matt. 10:36). The Christian must not play God and try to avenge himself. Returning evil for evil, or good for good, is the way most people live. But the Christian must live on a higher level and return good for evil. Of course, this requires love, because our first inclination is to fight back. It also requires faith, believing that God can work and accomplish His will in our lives and in the lives of those who hurt us. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 1 Thessalonians 5:15
You are accountable to God for every spoken and unspoken word, thought, and action. Do not live with a vindictive heart towards others. It will destroy you and sideline your spiritual growth and fruitfulness. Repent! Your pursuit towards that which is good or evil is a personal matter. Do not blame others for your anger. You can be a blessing to others, or live a life of bitterness. It is your choice. Choose wisely!
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
The only thing we should render to another is love. – TWEET IT
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9
Dear Father, my prayer is to a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
