FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
The late Dr. Reuben A. Torrey (whom McGee had the privilege of being pastor for twenty–one years of the church that he founded) was a great man of God, greatly abused and misunderstood. He knew the meaning of this verse, and he called it a soft pillow for a tired heart. Many of us have pillowed our heads on Romans 8:28. We know the whole creation is groaning, but we also know something else: all things are working together for good—even the groanings. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17–18
If we love God, then we must know that the love of God will override all the concerns and chaos of this life. We experience the same trials and traumas that unbelievers experience. But we have a decided difference because we are able to respond with a biblical world view. We do not give these events a dominating place in our mind, heart and emotions. We know that God is with us, and for us, and is using all these things to work a greater work in us for His glory.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 1 Peter 5:10
Dear Father, the things you have allowed to happen are not easy, but I am learning more and more about Your loving will, and it makes me thankful….in Jesus’ name. Amen.
