FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 4:22: And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Paul concluded his illustration about Abraham by saying, This is why (dio kai, “wherefore also”) it was credited to him as righteousness. Abraham’s response of faith to God and God’s promise to him was the human requirement for God’s justifying Abraham, for God’s declaring that Abraham stood righteous before Him. No wonder God credited such faith with righteousness! 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:3

Jesus, thank You for declaring that I am so much better than I really am. I know that I am a sinner. I know that I do not deserve Your blessing. I know that Your justice demands my eternal future in hell. Yet beyond belief, You asked me to believe in You. You asked me to believe in Your death, burial, and resurrection. You died my death so I could live my life for You. Hallelujah! I believe that You have declared me righteous. Every sin has been deleted from my heavenly account.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Since there is no sin in my heavenly account, then there can be no condemnation against me today. Thank You Jesus! – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

Dear Father, I needed this verse from You today. Thank You for setting me free…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
