Psalm 93:1–2: The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

The psalmist foresaw the Lord reigning majestically on the earth, armed with strength. Clothing in the Old Testament was considered an extension of a person; so the expression robed in majesty describes the Lord as majestic and powerful in His reign. Also by His rule the whole world will be firmly established. This means that all the moral and legal orders of life will be solidified under His dominion. Since His throne was established in eternity past, His reign on earth is solidly insured. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

  • The Lord will soon reign on earth…therefore, if you’re not serving Him now, how will you serve Him then?
  • The Lord will soon reign on earth…therefore, is He currently reigning and ruling in all areas of your life?
  • The Lord will soon reign on earth…therefore, are you, each day, experiencing His majesty and strength as a child of our glorious and everlasting King?

He will be clothed in majesty, and we will be clothed in His righteousness. – TWEET IT

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for being the only God who is from everlasting to everlasting. Dear Jesus, thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to reign and rule in us today.
