Psalm 2:11: Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Serve the Lord with fear. Let reverence and humility be mingled with your service. He is a great God, and you are but weak creatures; bend, therefore, in lowly worship, and let your devotion and fear mingle with all your obedience to the great Father of the ages. Rejoice with trembling. There must ever be a holy fear mixed with the Christian’s joy. This is a sacred compound, yielding a sweet smell. Fear, without joy, is torment; and joy, without holy fear, would be presumption. 1
Living the Transformed Life
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all those around Him. Psalm 89:7
- Will you please consider worshipping Him before you start working for Him?
- Boast often about His endless devotion towards you and not your feeble devotion towards Him.
- Spend more time rejoicing in His faithfulness, and spend less time worrying about the things that will never happen.

Praise and Prayer
Thank You Father, for letting Your Son come to earth in the fullness of humility. Dear Jesus – Please teach me more about this sacred balance of fear and joy.
