Proverbs 28:10: Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, He himself will fall into his own pit; But the blameless will inherit good.

Insight

To delight in the enticing of sinners along an evil path is the very image and aspect of the tempter. But his chief delight, the main effort, is to make the upright go astray. What rejoicing there is when a standard-bearer faints. The malice of Satan and his emissaries inadvertently demonstrates the faithfulness of the almighty Keeper. Even if they succeed for a while in leading the upright along an evil path, recovering mercy is in store for the upright. When an upright man is brought out of the snare in deep humiliation, he will receive a good inheritance. 1

Application

Joseph made a wonderful discovery in Genesis 50:20:

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

What evil are you currently contending with, either directly (because of a bad relationship) or indirectly (because you are a citizen of the world)? How might God take this difficulty and make you a stronger person of faith?

Motivation

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

Even when I go sideways, He is there to straighten me out. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for never rejecting me when I reject Your leadership in my life.
