Proverbs 24:12: If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

Insight

The Lord God is the One who ponders the heart. In such an instance when we know we have failed to do something that we should have done, there is nothing left but to turn to the Lord and say, “Lord, forgive me. I failed. I come to You now asking You to strengthen me and help me.” The Lord will hear that kind of prayer. He will deliver a man from being overwhelmed by the grief and guilt of his failure. We do well to mark the importance of this proverb and reach out to people who are in need of our help. 1

Application

1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

There is this day, and in the future, there will be that day. The day when we stand before the Lord in His marvelous light. We can rejoice on that day, if we use this day to ask for His forgiveness and His help to overcome our failures. Will you ask Him now?

Motivation

You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 32:19

To pursue a life of fruitfulness, is to pursue Him, who can make that happen. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, without You. I am a complete failure. With You, I am forgiven when I fail.
