Proverbs 20:15: There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

Insight

Gold and gems are of no value as compared with the lips that keep knowledge. No price can be set upon the precious truth of God, the wisdom that comes from above. 1

Application

Be blessed by the wisdom of God’s word found in Proverbs 2:1–5: My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.

Notice all the bold action words in these verses above. Do you seek Jesus and His Word with that kind of determination? Whatever is lacking in your life may be a direct result of your lack of pursuing Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Will you consider spending fifteen more minutes a day in His Word, seeking all the treasures He has for you? The Bible is a sacred vault filled with all of His treasures. They are waiting for you. Open the vault right now and receive His precious jewels.

Motivation

How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16
