Proverbs 15:19: The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns, but the way of the upright is a highway.

Insight

Difficulties abound in the mind of the slothful man. His way seems hedged up by thorns, and he has all manner of excuses for not acting at once according to what he knows is right and suited. The upright, learning his duty, presses on, and finds his way made plain before him as he takes one step after another. If God commands, I have simply to obey. He makes Himself responsible to clear the obstacles from my path, or to give me the ability to overcome them. 1

Application

King David helps us to understand how God strengthens us for every situation in Psalm 18:29 β€œFor by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.”

What difficulty are you currently facing? You have a choice. You can choose to go the right way or the wrong way. Will you seek His leadership. He wants you to take the highway of victory. The diligent person holds on to God and believes His promises. The lazy person lives in unbelief and will become hopelessly stuck. Chose to be an overcomer.

Motivation

For this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. Luke 15:24

When you press on with God, faith awakens, and hope is alive. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for the grace to keep believing Your promises of victory.
