Proverbs 14:35: The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him who causes shame.

Insight

May those who seek to serve a greater King be characterized by that wisdom which shall make them of real value in the work He has committed to them. 1

Application

This is how God responded to Solomon’s request for wisdom in 1 Kings 3:11-12:

“Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.”

Consider the wisdom that is necessary for you to lead a prosperous life that will glorify God. You do not want to make unnecessary mistakes. So will you ask your King for His wisdom to lead you, and protect you, and to provide for you? Will you prayerfully make that request right now?

Motivation

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
