Luke 11:27–28: And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Family relationships are not the most important things in life. A woman noted that it must have been wonderful to have been Jesus’ mother. The idea of physical relationship was more important in that day. The whole nation took pride in the fact that they descended from Abraham. Jesus pointed out that a physical relationship was unimportant compared with hearing and obeying the Word of God. As Luke emphasized, the gospel is not limited to Israel but is for all who trust in Christ. 1
Your Word is Truth
Life’s greatest blessing is receiving Jesus and living for Jesus. It is the truth of His Word that convicts me and the strength of His Word that sustains me. How much of His Word is a part of your daily life? Can you give Him five more minutes each day? What if you read a Proverb a day, what kind of difference might that godly wisdom make it your life?
With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! –Psalm 119:10

Your Will be Done
Lord, remove any rebellion in my heart. I want Your Word firmly planted in me.
