John 7:37–39: On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Our Lord is a Lion, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and we must come to him on his terms, though he graciously invites us to communicate with him, to speak to him. Are you satisfied? Have you drunk long and deep of that water so that out of your innermost being are flowing rivers of living water? Is your life a beatitude to others? Whether or not that has happened, speak to him about it now. 1
Your Word is Truth
We only seem to drink water when we are thirsty. How thirsty are you for God? Is He the fountain you go to each day? Does your satisfaction come from Him or from others? The words: “let him come” is an invitation for you to seek Him. Will you RSVP to Him today? In faith, receive His overflowing love and His abiding strength, so you can do the right thing today.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring. –Isaiah 44:3
