1 Corinthians 5:9–10: I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
Corinth was a city given over to this immorality in the name of religion. They are permitting this immoral man to come into their fellowship and to eat with them. They patted him on the back and accepted him as one of their own when they knew he was living in sin. Does the church today think it can drop down to the immorality of the world and get away with it? Thank God there are still wonderful churches left, churches that stand out like beacon lights across this land, Bible churches that stand for the Word of God. Most men today are compromising and shutting their eyes and letting the world come in. The church has lost its power. A little infection in the church must be dealt with or else it is going to corrupt and wreck the church. A little leaven will leaven the whole lump. 1
